The Lot 7 ceilidhs continue at the community hall in Burton on Sept. 22, 7 p.m., featuring Louise Arsenault with family members. Doors open at 6 p.m. There is the usual lunch, a door prize and a 50-50 draw.

Island Jazz continues Sept. 22, with Jordan Taylor on guitar and Chris Martel on acoustic bass playing duo together for the first time since meeting on the Island in 2019. Together they will perform some of their favourite standards drawing inspiration from famous guitar and bass jazz duos in the style of Pat Metheny/Charlie Haden, Jim Hall/Ron Carter and more. Copper Bottom Presents: The Stories & Songs of Stompin' Tom Stompin' Tom's touring band, Whiskey Jack on Sept. 22. The 13th edition of the Grand Ruisseau Song Festival wraps up at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall with the third and final show on Sept. 25, 7 p.m., at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall, with Jacques Surette, Michel Lalonde (accompanied by Caroline Bernard and Rémi Arsenault) and a trio made up of Louise, Jonathan and Angie Arsenault. Book launch for Bound, a historical novel written by Theresa Redmond, is Sept. 22, 7 p.m., at the Glenaladale Schoolhouse, 257 Blooming Point Rd., Tracadie. Bound is the first adult historical fiction set on P.E.I. and reimagines a turbulent time in early Island history. Redmond will share stories from Bound and the historical events that inspired the book. Scott Parson will join Bound, performing songs from his new album, The Gates of No Return. The Ancestry Research program will begin Sept. 25 at the Irish Cultural Centre, 582 North River Rd., Charlottetown, and last six secessions. Now is the time to fill out a family tree, track down some records of forefathers or compile a family history for future generations. The BIS has a full international Ancestry license to assist in tracing roots and extensive resources in the BIS library. With the guidance of volunteer Shaun Patterson, participants will become familiar with many research sources and websites. Participants will need a laptop or other device to actively participate but can also attend and take notes to follow up at their home computer. A social time with complimentary refreshments will also be part of this program.

Eptek Art & Culture Centre is showing Yield, curated by Maegan Black, a partnered exhibition between the P.E.I. Crafts Council and Eptek Centre. It features 24 Island artisans who work in a variety of mediums, including textiles, ceramics, woodworking, jewellery, metalworks and basketry. On display in the lobby is a portion of an exhibition commemorating the centennial of some women starting to gain voting privileges in P.E.I.’s provincial elections. This exhibition is split up with sections displayed at each of the seven P.E.I. Museum and Heritage Foundation sites. Admission is by donation. Scavenger hunts related to exhibits are offered.
