Kate, Princess of Wales and Prince William stepped out today (September 22) for their first official outing since the Queen's funeral was held on Monday. The royal couple spoke to several people involved in the committal service for the Queen's coffin on Monday afternoon, and both appeared in black outfits as a period of royal mourning continues.

Kate donned a smart, tailored ensemble for her walkabout in Windsor - a coat with a row of buttons down the middle.

She paired the coat with a pair of sheer tights and her signature black pumps and kept her long locks down and straight for the occasion.

Since the Queen died, Kate has worn several pearl jewellery items as pearls are considered appropriate for mourning.

Today was no exception, with the Princess donning a pair of elegant pearl dangling earrings with gold hoop detailing.

Kate's coat is a collarless long black design by Dolce & Gabbana which she has previously worn before.

The future Queen Consort has stepped out in the dress for previous royal occasions, including the National Service of Remembrance in 2017.

She also wore it to visit the Air Cadets after Prince Philip's funeral in 2021.

The Princess is a huge fan of the designer's coats, also previously wearing a purple coat and a teal coat from the high-end brand.

Kate's earrings look to be her go-to Gold Baroque Pearl Earring Drops by Annoushka Ducas, which she has worn on countless occasions previously.

She also wore her jewellery staple engagement ring, the 12-carat sapphire ring that belonged to the late Princess Diana.

The Princess' outfit in Windsor today has received praise online, with one Twitter user @duchesskatefan_ tweeting: "Catherine being as stunning as always today!"

User @royallybelle tweeted: "It’s nice to see her smile again! HRH the Princess of Wales today".

The Princess of Wales is a huge fan of pearl jewellery for any occasion, just like the late Queen Elizabeth II.

But Kate has worn several pearl items in recent days while she and the Royal Family mourn the loss of their beloved matriarch.

At outings since September 8, Kate has been pictured wearing the Queen's pearl and diamond earrings, which the monarch had worn to her Silver Jubilee celebrations in 1977.

Kate has also worn a three-strand pearl necklace similar to the style the Queen favoured, and the Collingwood pearl earrings from the late Princess Diana's collection.

For the Queen's funeral on Monday, Kate donned a full suite of pearl jewellery with sentimental value to the Royal Family.

She opted for the Queen's Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings, which feature round diamond studs with dangling diamonds and a single pearl.

She also wore the Four-strand Pearl and Diamond Choker from the royal collection, the same necklace she wore to Prince Philip's funeral in April 2021.

On her wrist, Kate also wore an elegant pearl bracelet.
