Yesterday, Kate Middleton dazzled in a Karen Millen Structured Crepe Forever Pleat Belted Midi Dress. She accessorised with a pair of drop earrings by British designer Emily Mortimer, but was not the first royal to discover the jewellery brand.

Kate's earrings of choice were the Hera White Gold and Diamond Pear Detachable Drops.

They cost £795, and appear to be a new purchase by the Princess, as she has not been spotted wearing them before.

On the official Emily Mortimer website, the beautiful earrings are described as follows: "Pear cut drops of polished gold surrounded by the sparkliest of pavé diamonds.

"We just can't resist how versatile these incredible earrings are, wear just the diamond hoop for the day and add the drop for the evening."

Emily Mortimer herself took to Instagram when the Duchess was spotted wearing the earrings and she could not conceal her excitement.

She wrote: "An unbelievable and incredibly proud moment for me to see Catherine, Princess of Wales wearing our Hera White Gold and Diamond Drop Earrings at her visit to the Royal Surrey County Hospital’s Maternity Unit today."

Royal fans took to Instagram to praise the Princess' choice of earrings for her latest appearance.

@bonniehatcher stated: "Just fantastic!! The perfect choice for her style." @_rebecca_clark_ added: "Those earrings are gorgeous!"

However, Kate was not the first royal spotted donning a pair of Emily Mortimer earrings.

Duchess Meghan Markle is known to be a big fan of the British brand, having worn various pairs over the years. Did Kate take style notes from her?

In 2018, Meghan wore a pair during her visit to New Zealand with Prince Harry.

On October 31, the Duke and Duchess met with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, and for the occasion Meghan wore a chic, navy asymmetrical dress and a statement pair of Emily Mortimer earrings.

These were the Nova Gold White Topaz Earrings, retailed at £365.

Emily revealed that it was an "absolute honour" to see Meghan wearing them.

The official Emily Mortimer website describes the earrings as jewels that "sparkle like the stars and shimmer at night".

"Each 9ct gold earring is pavé set with White Topaz and would make a stunning addition to any wardrobe."

In October of the following year, Meghan donned the Hera Collection Gold and Diamond Studs, pairing the jewels with a dark green dress.

These classic studs were described as "stylish, sparkly and sophisticated" on the official website.

Emily shared a photo of the Duchess dazzling in her earrings on Instagram on October 15, 2020.

She captioned the picture: "One whole year since this. The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle wearing our new Hera Collection Gold and Diamond Studs at this evenings WellChild Awards at The Royal Lancaster Hotel."
