New Delhi: Queen Elizabeth IIpassed away on September 8, 2022. Queen Elizabeth II may have had a large estate and an outstanding collection of jewels, but her fortune was nothing compared to other royals. She was reportedly valued at £370 million, but not quite enough to make the UK's 250 wealthiest people for 2022. The wealth of the Thai royal family is estimated to be between $50 and $70 billion, whereas Saudi King Salman has a projected net worth of $18 billion. As a result, her fortune is dwarfed by that of other monarchs. She left behind a collection of priceless jewels, substantial properties and money.
The Queen's fortune — and what happens to it now — are complicated, even though much of what is perceived as her property belongs to the $28 billion "Royal Firm", an empire that former members of the British royal family like King George VI and Prince Philip once referred to as "the family business".
The Queen received funding from the Sovereign Grant, an annual tax payment made to the British royal family. The Crown Estate, a collection of royal holdings, also brought in $28 billion annually, with the Queen receiving 25 per cent of that sum, with the remaining 75 per cent going to the British Treasury.
This funding will total more than 86 million pounds in 2020–21. The Queen's residence, Buckingham Palace, uses these funds for operations and maintenance costs, royal travel, and property maintenance.
Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister, popularised the term "the Firm" to refer to the British royal family, using it to compare the monarchy to a corporation. And it's not difficult to understand why she would have had that thought. The royal family possesses a sizeable and well-balanced collection of assets, including investments, real estate, and works of art. These assets are thought to be worth about $28 billion.

The British monarchy's portfolio of lands and assets in the United Kingdom is known as the Crown Estate. The estate is not the monarch's private property; rather, it is overseen by the Crown Estate Commissioners, a somewhat independent public body.
Sandringham House: Royal family-owned private home used as a getaway in the countryside, Sandringham House. Sandringham House is thought to be worth about $65 million.
Windsor Castle: It is one of the biggest inhabited castles in the world and the queen's official residence. Windsor Castle is thought to be worth about $490 million.
The Duchy of Lancaster, often known as the Privy Purse, is a collection of holdings and assets that dates back to the 14th century and provides the British monarch with a private income. According to the Duchy of Lancaster website, as of March 2022, Duchy has net assets of $652.8 million, generating a net surplus of $24 million. Real estate and financial investments are examples of these assets. After taxes are deducted, the $24 million excess is sent to the Queen and is mostly used to pay for expenses that are not already covered by the Sovereign Grant.
One of the largest and most expensive art collections in the world, the royal family's collection is thought to be worth $5 billion. Some of the most well-known artists in history, including Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo, have pieces in the collection.
Prince Charles will now inherit the Queen's more than $500 million in personal assets, including her investments, art collection, priceless jewels, Sandringham House and Balmoral Castle, as well as other real estate holdings.
According to a post by the Royal Family on Instagram, the Queen received the necklace as a wedding present from Nizam Asaf Jah VII of Hyderabad in 1947. According to the Royal family social media account, Queen Elizabeth II wore the necklace during her reign and even lent it to Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. The necklace is a component of the Buckingham Palace exhibit. "Nizam had left instructions with the firm of Cartier in London that Princess Elizabeth should select a wedding gift herself, and this platinum necklace set with approximately 300 diamonds was chosen," the caption read.
Queen Elizabeth II, the late monarch of the Commonwealth states, possessed a priceless collection of jewels, some worn in her official capacity and others held privately. They are distinct from the Crown Jewels, which are made up of gems, jewels, state regalia, and objects from coronations.
