To mark the 25th anniversary of Diana's death, we look back at her iconic style in these photos from her visits to Merseyside in the 80s and 90s

Before Diana’s untimely death on August 31, 1997, the Princess of Wales visited Liverpool numerous times throughout the 1980s and 1990s, sometimes with Prince Charles and on other occasions alone.

Fashion enthusiasts always kept a keen eye on Diana’s outfit choices, whether she was carrying out Royal duties or running errands. The "People’s Princess" could pull off anything, whether it was a fitted suit jacket and matching skirt, or a casual tracksuit.

Diana also didn’t shy away from bright colours, frequently wearing a stunning two-piece in a bold colour. Her iconic outfits were often complemented with a matching hat or handbag, and often paired with a pear of large gold earrings or elegant pearl drop earrings.
